Consumers tend to make straightforward New Year resolutions: Spend less, save more and pay down debt. This year, it appears retailers want to change just one thing...their bottom line. The tried-and-true methods aren't working anymore as consumers learn to resist the urge to buy, so merchants are starting their own trends. According to Bloomberg, consumer spending stalled in December, with a rise of just 0.1 percent, as Americans took advantage of last...

Through the ages, women have never had a lack of complaints about the inequalities between men and women. Particularly when it comes to romance, dating and age, there's always been a lot to complain about. I wish I could say that I am not about to contribute to that litany of gripes, but oh no, I'm about to jump right in. So, this whole "Cougar" thing. I wouldn't mind if that term got lost in the Bronx Zoo and was never heard from again. Or was shot...

Do You Dare? Metallic Fashion Tote Bags
    15 May 2008

Metallic, fashion tote bags should be worn with a consideration for your overall outfit. You don’t want to look like a disco ball. But when used properly, they are a powerful accent to your wardrobe choice. I went to Bloomingdale’s website and saw what they had in store for us. When I found my lust was not cured, I hopped over (my, I seem so athletic, don’t I?) to the websites for Neiman Marcus and Macy’s. In the bliss of these sites, I found all that I wanted. And honestly, how often does that happen?

    1. Kate Spade Metallic Rudy Tote at Bloomingdale’s ($395.00). I think I love everything Kate does. She’s one classy (but fun) lady. From what I hear, she throws wonderful parties. I haven’t been invited to any, but I’m sure that’s an oversight!
2.Gustto Estiva Metallic Shopper Bag in silver at Bloomingdale’s ($465.00). Also available in gold. Add some Rock n’ Roll fun to a simple outfit of a T-shirt and jeans.
    3. Prada Brown Metallic Tote at Neiman Marcus ($1,995.00). I absolutley am head-over-heels for this casual-yet-luxe tote. I recently bought a pair of Prada glasses, but this isn’t brand favoritism at work - this is just natural instinct.
    4. Red By Marc Ecko Hot-to-Trot Tote at Macy’s (SALE $48.00). Structured accents make this bag seem a little more ladylike.

Here’s to living in sublime style,

    Jessica Rae

[…] Leighton, I like genuinely you - so please, no more of that. Ironically, I just wrote about some purses that she could have opted for instead. Well, no, a clutch is best. But since she might need some guidance for other events, I hope she finds that link! […]
