Consumers tend to make straightforward New Year resolutions: Spend less, save more and pay down debt. This year, it appears retailers want to change just one thing...their bottom line. The tried-and-true methods aren't working anymore as consumers learn to resist the urge to buy, so merchants are starting their own trends. According to Bloomberg, consumer spending stalled in December, with a rise of just 0.1 percent, as Americans took advantage of last...

Through the ages, women have never had a lack of complaints about the inequalities between men and women. Particularly when it comes to romance, dating and age, there's always been a lot to complain about. I wish I could say that I am not about to contribute to that litany of gripes, but oh no, I'm about to jump right in. So, this whole "Cougar" thing. I wouldn't mind if that term got lost in the Bronx Zoo and was never heard from again. Or was shot...

WHAT: Ananas Pop Up Store/Sample Sale

WHY: After the raging success of June 08’s Ananas @ 52 pop up store on NYC’s Lower East Side, Ananas designer Jennifer Lagdameo has decided to open another Pop Up store in NYC, this time in the charming Nolita neighborhood. Tucked on Elizabeth Street, this underground shopping destination will house everyone’s favorite bags from this season. Also, fashionistas rejoice–Jennifer dug deep into her archives for the occasion, and the store will feature original, “vintage” Ananas pieces from the collection’s beginning as well as one-of-a-kind styles to make all of your friends jealous.

Yet another reason to high tail it downtown to the Pop Up: In addition to one-of-a-kind and out-of-stock bags, the Ananas Nolita Pop Up Store will feature sample sale prices up to 75% off.  For this limited time run, Ananas favorites will be available at drastically reduced prices. (i.e. The Furoshiki, normally $310, is $150. The Samantha, normally $530 is $230 and the Coco clutch, normally $98, will be $50. Special abaca and leather styles normally $98-$310 are $25-$98).

    WHEN: 1/31-3/15
    Daily 12-7

WHERE: 248 Elizabeth Street (btw Houston & Prince)

This sale was pretty great, with its cozy Nolita surroundings the store its self was pretty cool. The selection was pretty awesome aswell, with great leather hobo’s orginally around $500 were $250 and sexy python cluthes were $90 and most of the new spring bags were on sale also around 50% off. So overall this sale gets a thumbs way up!
